Top Five Friday

It’s Friday! Which means you guys are getting a top five Friday post! I struggled to come up with one until I remembered some books I’d been talking to people about a few days ago as I tried to confirm that some of the books I love most are great books*.

*They’re not.

So, everybody has them, whether it’s because the book is so bad you love it or because you’re genuinely interested in that crazy werewolf/zombie insta-love plot.

Here it is. My top five guilty pleasure reads.

5. The Selection Kiera Cass

I give Caitlynn so much crap for loving these books because I think they’re terrible, but straight up, I read the entire series in three days. Sometimes I remember some random line in the book and laugh because this is a book that I love specifically for how bad I feel that it is.

4. The Ruby Red trilogy by Kerstin Gier

Like The Selection, I liked this book because I thought it was ridiculous and an easy read. It was one of those where I literally didn’t think, just read.

3. Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead

Do you guys know how embarrassing it is to be in college and for people to see you reading a vampire book? It was awful. But oh my God I love Richelle Meads writing in this series. The characters, the plots, the writing – I just couldn’t get enough.

2. Bloodlines by Richelle Mead

Fun fact, I actually liked the Bloodlines books more than Vampire Academy. I almost feel like calling Bloodlines a guilty pleasure is just so wrong, but really, it feels pretty right.

1. Divergent by Veronica Roth

I don’t care what anyone says. This book was damn good and I’m sticking to that. You guys can call me out on it, but you know what it could be way worse. Also, it can’t be all bad if they made a movie out of it, right? Right, guys?!?!!

So, what are some of your guilty pleasures?
